Our process
1. Site visit & design development
Once we have an understanding of your project we can issue a fee proposal for the architectural work required to begin the design. This process starts with a visit to your site and an outline survey.
Our architect will develop a set of conceptual drawings, capturing the spirit and essence of your new log home. We can also create 3D renderings and visuals to make your project come to life.
2. Planning permission
The design of your log home is confirmed and an application is made to your local authority for planning approval. At this point we can begin to cost out the project.
3. Building warrant
The finer technical elements of the building are agreed and a formal set of warrant drawings are prepared for submission to Building Control. We are able to confirm the price of the project and issue a formal contract to commence the build.
4. Log selection
We hand pick a variety of logs from forests throughout Scotland. We are happy to involve you in this process as trip to the forest can provide an exciting start to the building project.
5. Log work
Each log is peeled by hand, expertly scribed and cut to the highest standard before being added to the building. Once complete the logs are labelled and dismantled, ready for transportation to your site.
6. On-site
Your log shell is delivered to site and set-up on the foundation. We then complete the external walls, roofing, window fitting and make the build weathertight. If required we can also complete the building interior fit-out , delivering your home in move-in condition.
